Dec 2000 New pages:
- Find a Name to search for names in the history pages.
- Map of Riber : Originally scanned to give a friend an idea of the locality, this reproduction is a detail from the Ordnance Survey Map reproduced in Benjamin Bryan's book (1903)
Additions to:
- During December we introduced a new page on the site, outlining our 'Conditions of use'. This led us to refresh many of our pages and some have had slight updates that aren't included here.
- 1861 census index : 513 more names added as Enumeration District 13 has been about half completed and a few addresses added to ED12.
- Matlock Biographies now includes details on DAWBER and MAWE as well as better links to additional information on ARKWRIGHT and SMEDLEY.
- Matlock Miscellany has the details of the ARKWRIGHT coat of arms.
- Notes on the 1841 Census have been slightly modified

Nov 2000 New pages:
- Kelly's Post Office Directory (1855) - 295 names. Just before hydropathy burst onto the Matlock scene.
Additions to:
- 1861 census index : Three Enumeration District now completed. 1642 names.
- How to find what you are looking for : Several additional book titles.Three from Sonia Addis Smith.
- Matlock Bank and Moor (Matlock): Excerpt from Bulmer's 1895 directory added. With thanks to Sonia Addis Smith.
- Matlock Strays : Mel Towler has sent two YKS MI's, for the surnames of CAWOOD and WOODCOCK, bringing the total up to 888 names.
- Newspaper Cuttings : 84 surnames now, with the earliest report dating from 1840. Material ranges from being humorous to very sad.
- Water Cures : Excerpts from Bulmer's 1895 directory aded. With thanks to Sonia Addis Smith.

- 1861 census index : One Enumeration District completed and a second is almost done.
Additions to:
- Charters and Early Deeds: Matlock references under Chesterfield and Litchurch now added to these documents from the Middle Ages.
- Matlock Biographies includes detailed on the CUMMING family from David Bates.
- Matlock Strays : 886 names these days. Just a few more names added, for Shirland and Pentrich marriages.

- Notes about Phillimore's Marriage Indexes - has now been completed. Background notes and additional information. Includes variations in spelling between the register and the signature of the bride or groom.

- Newspaper Cuttings: miscellaneous collection of very short reports, sorted chronologically, that have been extracted from local newspapers published over 75 years ago.

- 18th Century Lists: The Toleration Act
- 19th Century Lists: Some lists contain less than five names. Have a look at the section in the next century 'just in case', as someone may included under a later century where the list is very short. Volunteer Infantry (later moved to it's own page).
- Matlock Bath Today : Two photographs, sent by Martin Rowley, and further background information about the village.

Oct 1999 Matlock and Matlock Bath are also mentioned on the Derbyshire's Parishes, 1811 pages. These were updated and the title changed from 'Derbyshire Deaneries'.
